Splice is seeking a Sounds Business Operations Manager to own program management and operational execution for the Sounds business unit. This role sits between category teams and senior leadership, focused on workstream management, team coordination, budget tracking, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership with Product & Engineering.
Core Responsibilities:
Program Management & Workstream Coordination: Own senior program management across Audio Dev, tracking workstreams, milestones, and deliverables. Maintain visibility into what's on track, at risk, or needs intervention. Proactively surface blockers and coordinate solutions across teams. Ensure cross-functional dependencies are identified and managed before they become problems.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Represent Audio Dev's needs and priorities in product roadmap discussions. Coordinate between Audio Dev and Product/Engineering teams on shared workstreams. Bring Audio Dev context into product decisions, surfacing the right data, needs, and trade-offs. Track product initiatives that affect Sounds and flag dependencies or risks proactively.
Team Rhythm & Communications: Own the operational cadence of the Audio Dev team, including meeting schedules, agendas, follow-ups, and action item tracking. Prepare and coordinate materials for leadership presentations and cross-functional meetings. Ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. Help category leads show up to key meetings prepared and aligned.
Budget Tracking & Financial Coordination: Manage and report on the audio development budget (~$120k/month). Track spend across in-house production, third-party labels, and artist partnerships. Flag risks and variances to leadership with context and recommendations. Partner with Finance on reporting and routine financial processes.
Operational Process Improvement: Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across contracting, approvals, and tracking. Partner with Content Operations to improve systems and reduce manual friction. Serve as a first-line escalation point for cross-functional issues, routing them appropriately.
Portfolio Reporting & Insights: Aggregate data on catalog performance, spend, and content health for leadership. Identify trends or issues that need attention and bring them forward with context. Support category leads with operational data to inform their decisions.
What Success Looks Like: Audio Dev workstreams are visible, on track, and unblocked. Leadership meetings are well-prepared, focused, and productive. Budget is tracked and reported accurately every month. Category leads spend less time on coordination and more time on their core work. Escalations are routed and resolved without reaching senior leadership unnecessarily.
Requirements:
- 3–6 years in program management, content operations, or business operations, ideally in a music, media, or subscription business
- Strong program and project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi-team workstreams
- Comfortable owning meeting cadences, executive communications, and cross-functional coordination
- Experience working with budgets and financial tracking
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work through ambiguity without waiting to be told what to do
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with Airtable, Notion, Linear, or similar workflow and productivity tools
- Experience working in music tech or creator-focused technology
- Track record of building automations and scalable workflows to streamline team operations
- Experience architecting processes and systems in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments
