Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Strategic Defense team builds software-defined command and control systems to protect against ballistic, hypersonic, and air-breathing threats that arrive in seconds and maneuver mid-flight.
As a Software Technical Program Manager, you will own operational execution for the Air Defense Software Team, ensuring the team operates effectively and efficiently. You will partner with engineering leads to optimize and scale team output while driving execution toward business goals. This role focuses on the Guam Defense System Battle Manager product and involves creating a new strategic business line within Air Defense while collaborating with other strategic Command and Control programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define the roadmap for the Air Defense Software team in alignment with partner engineering teams and organizational technical strategy
- Execute autonomously on broad and ambiguous requirements from internal engineering, program offices, and corporate partners across multiple simultaneous programs
- Partner deeply with engineering leaders to drive program execution and team velocity across software teams and departments
- Serve as an effective proxy in program and organizational matters to help engineering leads scale
- Manage, unblock, and accelerate cross-team projects spanning multiple functional teams; instill efficient project management workflows
- Identify and resolve systemic execution issues requiring broader initiatives
- Partner with product leads to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities aligned with company milestones
- Identify, resolve, and escalate key cross-team dependencies
- Support staffing plans across the organization, particularly where prioritization conflicts exist
- Track and communicate progress of key programs; define efficient status communication processes
- Remove obstacles to drive clarity and progress; manage escalations and support teams balancing competing priorities
- Understand technical implementation at the architectural level and propose technical alternatives when necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5+ years experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Product Manager, Engineering Manager, or Engineer in a software development environment
- Solid technical aptitude and ability to understand technical designs, software development lifecycle, challenges, and risks
- Ability to work closely and effectively with engineering teams
- Strong process and organization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to describe and figure out the shape of a problem and work through a solution
- Experience running projects and processes with little oversight; ability to unblock themselves
- Strong execution and prioritization capabilities
- Highly developed analytical and communication skills
- High grit, proactive, and enthusiastic approach
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building programs for software deliverables from the ground up
- Ability to work within organizations with minimal structure and minimal direction
- Experience rolling out potentially disruptive organizational process changes
- Experience creating communication plans for various stakeholder levels
- Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, GIAC-PEN, Prosci, SAFe, or PMP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline
- Experience working with mid and upper tier Air Defense systems in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Missile Defense Agency
