Reliable Robotics is building safety-enhancing autonomous aviation systems to transform air transportation. As a Mission Systems Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain the software infrastructure that enables efficient operations, testing, and maintenance of autonomous aircraft systems.
You'll work across the full stack—from embedded systems and Linux platform software to cloud applications—supporting both airborne and ground-based components of the autonomy platform. Your responsibilities include:
- Architecting airborne, ground, and cloud systems for aircraft communications, fleet operations, and data management
- Developing, debugging, and deploying software across embedded systems, Linux platforms, and application layers
- Integrating complex third-party hardware and software systems into the Reliable Robotics autonomy platform
- Ensuring high performance and reliability of production systems used daily in R&D and operational environments
This role is critical to building the reliable communication systems necessary to safely operate autonomous aircraft. You'll have the opportunity to work on systems spanning aircraft hardware, mission infrastructure, and command centers.
Travel: 10% required.

REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of systems-level programming experience in Rust and/or C++
- Experience deploying and using software in production environments on a daily basis
PREFERRED:
- Production Linux experience including networking, containerization, and performance profiling
- AWS deployment and infrastructure management experience
- Networking expertise (UDP/IP, NAT, sockets, routing)
- Experience driving hardware systems with software
- Distributed systems and messaging protocol experience
