Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Dublin Kernel software team, working on Linux Kernel and BIOS software development for data center networking products. You will be part of the Platform team, working closest to hardware and chip programming.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping pace with latest Linux Kernel developments and integrating them for internal use and as a base for Arista EOS
- Extending and developing new kernel features, working with the kernel community to get features integrated upstream
- Evaluating new CPUs and collaborating with CPU/BIOS vendors to integrate their stacks into EOS
- Bringup and qualification of CPU components into Arista hardware products
- Owning projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions
- Debugging problems and fine-tuning code for scalability and performance
- Ensuring quality across all deliverables

Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with C or C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience working on Linux Kernel software (preferred)
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems (preferred)
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design and implement solutions successfully
