This Backend Engineer role is based in the Credit team and offers relocation support to Poland (Krakow), Spain (Barcelona or Madrid), or UAE (Dubai). You'll work in a hybrid model with flexibility to work remotely or in-office.
The Technology team at Revolut builds the systems and experiences powering the platform. You'll collaborate across the business to ship clean, maintainable code using test-driven development (TDD), domain-driven design (DDD), and continuous integration/delivery practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Build mobile APIs serving millions of users
- Develop microservices to evolve the platform architecture
- Perfect critical systems including risk management, fraud detection, and payment processing
- Focus on greenfield development and improvement of existing systems
- Work with a modern stack: Java 17/21, GCP, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, PostgreSQL, Redis, Spock, jOOQ, and Flyway

Requirements:
- 6+ years of backend development experience
- Fluency with Java
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or similar field
- Quick learner with ambitious attitude and results-driven personality
- Ability to work effectively in a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Fluency in English
Nice to have:
- Experience with Kotlin or Scala
- Background in finance
