You will join the Integrations Team as a Software Engineer II, working on strategic integrations that connect PagerDuty to the many tools customers rely on daily. This role spans a wide range of technologies including APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and SaaS platforms across multiple languages, with AI as a core part of day-to-day engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and ship backend applications and microservices, APIs, webhooks, and front-end interfaces that deliver reliable, scalable integrations to customers
- Collaborate closely with engineers across teams to build highly available services, scalable databases, and secure APIs
- Solve interesting technical challenges while scaling the product to meet demand from 20,000+ global customers
- Participate in your team's on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise
- Help promote engineering excellence across design, development, test, and release cycles

REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements
- Development experience building and operating customer-facing, web-based products
- Demonstrated experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Ruby, or Elixir) and with AI coding tools
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies and pick up unfamiliar languages and platforms quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operational experience in cloud technologies such as AWS
- Comfortable moving between multiple languages and tech stacks
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, webhooks, or OAuth-based authentication
- Experience with SaaS platforms such as Jira, Salesforce, or ServiceNow
- Operational experience with databases and tools (e.g., MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL, applying software engineering principles to data problems)
- Experience building user-facing public APIs
- Experience designing and implementing distributed and highly available systems
