As a Software Engineer II (Senior Mobile Engineer), you will be a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and building mobile products used directly by millions of consumers globally. This role extends beyond coding to include architecture design, technical discovery, and establishing foundational systems for the consumer offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and build high-performance, user-friendly mobile experiences operating at scale, used by millions of consumers worldwide
- Own feature development end-to-end: discovery, development, monitoring, and maintenance
- Collaborate closely with backend teams to ensure underlying systems align with mobile product evolution
- Champion best practices across the technical domain including testing, monitoring, and release strategy to strengthen engineering foundations
- Mentor peers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to the long-term technical vision for mobile development at Checkout.com
You will work in a hybrid model with three days per week in the Paris office to support collaboration and connection. The role emphasizes real ownership, fewer blockers, and meaningful work from day one, with opportunities for rapid growth and recognition based on impact delivered.
Requirements:
- Solid background in mobile technologies, specifically Native Android and Kotlin
- Proven track record building scalable and highly performant consumer experiences in the mobile domain
- Experience building and maintaining mobile apps or SDKs used by large, active user bases
- Passionate about developer experience: clear APIs, excellent documentation, and reliability at scale
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience collaborating with product, design, and backend teams
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in payments, fintech, or other security-sensitive domains
- Exposure to PCI compliance, tokenization, or secure data handling
