Salary: USD 130,000 - 160,000 / annual
Resend is a modern email platform for developers with over 4 million users. The company is building tools that prioritize dependable infrastructure, thoughtful design, and excellent developer experience.
On the DevTools Squad, you will work across SDKs, React Email, CLI, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and integrations alongside backend services. Your work helps developers integrate Resend into their workflows, understand failures, and confidently scale their applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain developer tools that make Resend easy to integrate across languages, frameworks, and environments
- Build and operate services supporting developer tools and integrations
- Collaborate with product squads on clear API contracts and consistent behavior across SDKs, CLI, MCP, and documentation
- Build interfaces for developers and agents to work with Resend (MCP, skills, CLI)
- Ensure compatibility, testing, releases, and upgrades so developers can depend on shipped products
- Build shared tooling to help other squads ship changes confidently
- Work directly with developers through support, GitHub issues, and pull requests
The role is fully remote with expected travel for team offsites, conferences, and meetups.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong backend engineering experience, including building and maintaining APIs or services in production
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and partial failures
- Experience building software that other developers depend on and understanding the responsibility of maintaining it
- Care about interface design, clear errors, useful documentation, and backward compatibility
- Ability to think about agents as product users with their own needs for discovery and security
- Can take ambiguous problems, propose focused solutions, and follow through after release
- Clear communication, openness to feedback, and ownership while collaborating closely
EXCEPTIONAL FIT INCLUDES:
- Experience maintaining open source projects or working with external contributors
- Experience building SDKs, command-line tools, MCP servers, or platform integrations
- Experience with React or frontend build tooling
- Experience building and operating systems with queues, monitoring, and error recovery
- Experience across multiple programming languages
- Email development experience or strong interest in learning the space
