Salary: USD 162,000 - 190,000 / annual
Airbnb's DevAI team is building world-class developer infrastructure to enhance productivity across the entire software development lifecycle. This role focuses on creating foundational AI tooling and infrastructure that empowers engineers company-wide, while also serving as an internal AI consultancy for teams building domain-specific AI solutions.
You will help shape and execute the technical direction of the team's infrastructure and products, working across diverse problem spaces including agentic coding tools, asynchronous AI workflow platforms, SDKs for rapid internal AI app development, and AI-assisted code migration. Your work will directly accelerate innovation across Airbnb's product surface by making developer workflows faster and more enjoyable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the AI for Developers strategy from ideation through shipping with strong ownership and coding across various stacks
- Making pragmatic architectural and technical decisions that balance ambition with real-world constraints and long-term operability
- Staying current on the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and helping the team balance innovation with measurable developer impact
- Serving as a champion, expert, coach, and consultant to empower teams across the company to adopt and leverage new AI capabilities
- Championing engineering excellence through high-quality code, thoughtful design, and reliable systems
- Participating in on-call rotations and driving operational excellence for platform components

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of industry experience (or equivalent depth of expertise)
- Prior experience building developer infrastructure, tooling, or platforms, ideally at scale with industry-standard tools and frameworks
- Hands-on experience applying AI technologies to real-world software development challenges
- Track record of quickly ramping up in new domains, technologies, or languages with genuine excitement for continuous learning
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional partnerships with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in one or more of: Go, Python, TypeScript, or Kotlin
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree or equivalent experience
