Snowflake is hiring a Software Engineer II for the Cortex AI Frontend team, which builds AI/ML-powered user experiences enabling enterprises to converse with structured data and extract insights. You will contribute to the full product lifecycle from conception through deployment, building scalable, responsive, and intuitive interfaces at the intersection of AI, data, and enterprise UX.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to technical execution and delivery of user-facing frontend features, moving from design concepts to production-ready deployments
- Write clean, performant, and maintainable TypeScript/React code following engineering best practices
- Participate actively in frontend architecture discussions, design reviews, and peer code reviews to ensure code quality and system scalability
- Collaborate closely with product managers and UX/UI designers to convert user requirements into detailed technical tasks and robust UI components
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize the frontend platform's responsiveness, availability, and user experience
- Partner with backend and cross-functional teams to integrate APIs and support backend services powering AI inference and data retrieval
- Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) as an integral part of your daily software development workflow

Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience designing and building production web applications
- Active use of AI coding assistants in daily engineering workflows
- Strong hands-on proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and the modern React ecosystem
- Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, UI design patterns, and state management
- Proven ability to turn design mocks and product specs into production-quality code
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and design
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience building or shipping LLM-powered applications or conversational user interfaces
- Familiarity with major cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Prior exposure to data analytics, BI tools, or data visualization frameworks
- Basic understanding of backend services, REST/GraphQL APIs, or systems that serve AI/ML models
