Salary: USD 160,000 - 200,000 / annual
Discord is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Consumer Revenue squads, teams responsible for building premium experiences that drive revenue while maintaining the core free experience for millions of users. You will work on premium features including Nitro, shop, boosting, and user identity across Discord's full technical stack.
In this product engineering role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Design, and Marketing to create best-in-class consumer experiences. Your responsibilities include:
- Building and improving premium Discord experiences such as Nitro, shop, boosting, and user identity
- Owning projects end-to-end by partnering with Product to refine requirements, creating technical specs, and working closely with Design to execute polished user experiences
- Working with a team of full-stack engineers to ship features across Web, Android, and iOS platforms
- Leading complex initiatives from conception to completion in ambiguous environments
- Rapidly prototyping new features and synthesizing insights through experimentation
You will be supported by infrastructure, platform, and product teams as you build the best premium Discord experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience as a key technical contributor who has led sizable projects with significant impact on team roadmap
- Full-stack proficiency: expert in React/React Native with solid Python backend development skills. Primary tech stack includes React, TypeScript (web), React Native with Kotlin/Objective-C/Swift (mobile), and Python (backend)
- Strong product sense with high empathy for internal and external users; ability to identify changes that elevate products from good to great
- Ownership mentality: thrive with autonomy, take initiative to drive projects forward, comfortable with ambiguity
- Pragmatic approach to solving complex problems; value rapid prototyping, autonomy, and high integrity
