Starfish Space is a venture-backed satellite servicing company founded in 2019, having raised over $150M. The company operates the Otter satellite servicing vehicle, which performs autonomous, robotic operations in orbit including life extension missions for geostationary satellites and disposal missions for low Earth orbit satellites. Starfish has launched multiple missions and serves customers including SES, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, and NASA.
You will join the engineering team to build space environment simulation software and infrastructure supporting the development and refinement of Starfish's autonomous software. The Otter vehicle relies on autonomous technologies to conduct rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking in orbit. These software products are developed and tested in simulation environments before deployment.
In this role, you will work across the full stack of simulation infrastructure: building cloud infrastructure to support simulation workloads, automating analysis of simulation results, integrating with satellite compute hardware, and supporting the broader autonomous software development pipeline. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where you'll contribute directly to mission-critical systems.
