ServiceNow's AI Experience Framework (AIUX) team is seeking a Software Engineer to build the platform powering ServiceNow's AI-first user interfaces. You will own full-stack architectural decisions in a modern JavaScript/component-driven environment, working with Lit-based web components to create modular, reusable conversational experiences that serve as the technical foundation for conversation-first applications like Employee Slate.
In this role, you will:
- Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (code reviews, unit testing, etc.)
- Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design through implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality product to users
- Design software that is simple to use, allowing customers to extend and customize functionality to meet their specific needs
- Help design and implement new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite
- Make architectural decisions spanning the SSR runtime (server-rendered Lit components, versioned request routing, isolated execution pools) and the ServiceNow Glide platform layer
- Coordinate across multiple teams on AI integration, performance scale, and multi-team initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact)
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, with focus on reusability and componentization
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Experience with modern UI frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue)
- Analytical and design skills
- Working knowledge and ability to use development tools (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, system administration/Unix tools)
