Forescout is a cybersecurity company protecting critical infrastructure for Fortune 100 organizations and government agencies. You will own and deliver software stories end-to-end for their cloud-based cybersecurity SaaS product, with a focus on Java backend and React frontend development on Azure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain software solutions using Java and Azure services, with emphasis on API development and database management
- Build frontend features using React, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following best practices
- Participate in debugging, unit testing, and troubleshooting technical issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, UX) to refine requirements
- Mentor associate and junior-level engineers
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
- Learn and apply agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
- Analyze and optimize code for performance and scalability
This is a hybrid role requiring office presence every Thursday at the Kanata office in Ottawa.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience writing code in Java, including API development and database management
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with React, Node.js, and/or TypeScript
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with Azure preferred
- 2+ years of experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks
- Understanding of performance optimization, security best practices, and software scalability
- Effective collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps principles
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Linux shell scripting
- Experience in the Azure data stack (Azure Data Explorer, Event Hub, Service Bus, CosmosDB)
- Experience with Terraform and Helm
- Exposure to LLM inference, agents, MCP servers, and prompt engineering
- Good understanding of cybersecurity and networks
