iCapital is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their development team in Jaipur. This is a mid-level engineering role focused on implementing medium-complexity features with moderate guidance from senior engineers. You will be a trusted and collaborative member of your POD, applying core software development principles and following established architectural guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze user stories and functional requirements, then independently modify existing software
- Contribute to design and development of new platform components, building deeper technical expertise over time
- Develop strong understanding of business use cases and user needs for assigned features
- Participate in story writing and grooming, asking insightful questions and demonstrating technical grasp
- Communicate technical issues effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Design, write, and unit test code to ensure modules are performant, bug-free, and maintainable
- Work independently across multiple clients or projects, managing work with full ownership
- Actively participate in technical discussions, troubleshooting, and process improvement
- Develop and maintain domain expertise in Insurance, Life, and Annuities products
- Participate in client/product grooming calls to address issues, clarify requirements, and support deployments
- Understand and utilize debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve errors
- Maintain defect/change tracking systems for assigned modules
The role offers hybrid flexibility: four days in office with one day remote work (Friday).
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in C# (primary language for .NET development)
- In-depth knowledge of .NET framework, including ASP.NET and Entity Framework
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; knowledge of Angular or React advantageous
- Experience with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, CosmoDB, or NoSQL databases)
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies; familiarity with version control (ADO), JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts, SOLID principles, and design patterns (MVC, MVVM)
- Experience working in Agile scrum team environments
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (NUnit, MSTest) and debugging techniques
- Awareness of security vulnerabilities and best practices for .NET applications
- Proficiency in application performance optimization (caching, query optimization, resource utilization)
- Insurance, Life, and Annuities domain knowledge preferred, or willingness to actively learn
