At-Bay is a top-10 U.S. cyber insurer combining technology and insurance to help businesses manage cyber risk. The company operates hubs in Atlanta, New York City, San Francisco, and Tel Aviv, serving 10,000+ users at small and mid-sized businesses. You will join the Stance team to design, build, and operate backend services for At-Bay Stance, a unified security platform. This is an end-to-end ownership role where you will be the go-to person for the systems you own. Key responsibilities include: - Design, build, deploy, and operate backend services with full ownership - Write design documents, weigh architectural trade-offs, and shape how microservices, data, and events integrate - Ship new capabilities and integrations into production safely using feature flags, gradual rollouts, and backward-compatible changes - Write well-tested, organized, and robust code supporting a fast-growing organization - Tackle complex engineering challenges on systems critical to the company - Work in a modern CI/CD environment on cloud infrastructure - Develop user-facing features where latency, correctness, and experience matter - Own observability for your services (logs, metrics, traces, alerts) and debug across distributed, event-driven systems - Participate in on-call rotation, responding to production issues and implementing permanent fixes - Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA experts, architects, and developers across international teams; contribute React code when needed The role offers a hybrid model with offices in Azrieli Sarona, Tel Aviv, steps from public transit, and emphasizes work-life balance with wellness days. Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering in Python (preferred) - Experience with event-driven architecture (SNS/SQS, Dapr, Kafka, or similar) - Proven ownership of production systems: designed, shipped, and operated services that real users depend on - Strong system design and architecture skills: microservices, RESTful APIs, data modeling - Experience building and running user-facing applications at scale - Hands-on production monitoring and debugging: logs, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting (Grafana, Sentry, Datadog, or similar) - Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), including query performance - Experience with cloud production environments (AWS), Docker, and Kubernetes - Learning mindset: quickly pick up new tools, domains, codebases, and frontend code when needed - Excellent communication in Hebrew and English Nice to have: - Frontend experience with React - Workflow orchestration (Orkes/Conductor, Temporal, or similar) - Cyber security or networking knowledge - NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, MongoDB) - Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers
