Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the AGNI (Arista Guardian for Network Identity) team in Bengaluru. AGNI is a cloud-native SaaS platform for network access control and zero-trust security, deployed globally by enterprises as both a managed cloud service and on-premises solution. The platform handles authentication and authorization for every device joining a network using protocols like 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, TACACS+, and PKI. In this role, you will design and build end-to-end automated test suites for AGNI features, primarily in Go. You will own test coverage for one or more product domains (e.g., RADIUS/EAP, TACACS+, captive portal, PKI) end-to-end: deriving test plans from feature specs, implementing test cases, triaging failures, and maintaining them as the product evolves. You will build and extend internal test utility libraries including simulated RADIUS/EAPOL clients, browser automation, certificate helpers, and REST API wrappers. Key responsibilities include driving root-cause analysis on test failures to distinguish flaky tests from real product bugs, reviewing feature design specifications and writing test plans that cover happy paths, boundary conditions, and failure modes before implementation, and owning Jenkins CI pipelines that run nightly e2e suites against cloud and on-prem deployments. You will contribute targeted fixes to the platform codebase when tests reveal clear, bounded issues, mentor junior engineers and interns on test design principles and debugging methodology, and participate in incident post-mortems to identify and close gaps in test coverage. Arista is an engineering-centric company with flat management structure led by engineers who understand software engineering principles. The company values complete ownership, quality, and innovation. Development offices span Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, and the US, with all R&D centers considered equal in stature. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering field - 3–6 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with significant portion in test automation or quality engineering (not just manual testing) - Proficiency in Go or Python for writing production-grade automation code; Go strongly preferred - Solid understanding of Linux from administration and debugging perspectives: process management, networking tools (tcpdump, openssl, curl), log analysis - Working knowledge of enterprise authentication protocols: 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP variants (EAP-TLS, PEAP, TEAP), TACACS+, or PKI/certificate management; ability to read packet traces - Hands-on experience with REST API testing: designing test cases, validating responses, building reliable API clients in code - Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar): writing pipeline stages, triaging failures, improving reliability - Strong debugging instinct and clear written communication for test plans, bug reports, and post-mortem write-ups GOOD TO HAVE: - Experience with containerization (Docker) and basic cloud environments (GCP/AWS) - Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana) - Exposure to PKI infrastructure: certificate chains, SCEP/EST enrollment, TLS handshake failure modes - Experience with browser automation frameworks for UI/captive-portal test scenarios - Familiarity with database testing (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
