You'll join the Financial Services team, which focuses on transforming customer experience in insurance, banking, and related sectors through AI-powered solutions. In this role, you will design and deliver production-grade AI agents that are mission-critical and drive revenue. You'll own the complete Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC)—from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration—building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments. Your work will directly impact how enterprises and startups operate at scale, with examples including AI agents that outperform human agents in insurance claims filing, handling complex customer interactions like insurance quotes, and integrating voice models at enterprise scale. You'll partner directly with leaders at major enterprises and cutting-edge startups to understand their business challenges and build transformative AI solutions. Your insights from customer work will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform, surfacing unmet needs and collaborating with research, product, and platform teams to shape the future of AI agent development. REQUIREMENTS: - Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems - Strong technical problem-solving skills in fast-changing, ambiguous environments - Builder and tinkerer's mindset with high agency and ability to overcome obstacles - Comfort working directly with customers to understand needs and solve real-world problems - Excellent communication skills—clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences - Genuine interest in Financial Services and improving end customer experience; experience in insurance technology, financial institution implementations, or familiarity with financial services security and compliance requirements (PII handling, coverage advice, etc.) is a strong plus PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production - Founder or founding engineer background—comfort balancing craft, ownership, and speed - Familiarity with AI agent tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering - Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go - Previous roles interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders
