ApplyBoard is seeking a Slate Administrator to own the configuration, data integrity, integrations, communications delivery, security, and operational health of the Slate platform—the core system that guides prospective international students from first inquiry through enrollment. This is a technical, hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports. You will write queries, build source formats, maintain the Slate rules engine, and own the bidirectional integration between Slate and Ellucian Colleague. **Platform Configuration & Ownership** You will configure and maintain Slate application forms, events, portals, decision letters, materials, checklists, and status workflows. You'll build and maintain the Slate rules engine (population rules, field maintenance rules, workflow automation), administer Slate Reader (bins, review steps, scoring, committee workflow), and manage datasets, prompts, custom fields, and configurable joins while enforcing documented field governance standards. You'll manage sandbox and test instances, oversee release testing and controlled promotion of configuration changes to production, and evaluate quarterly technology releases to recommend adoption of capabilities that reduce institutional effort. **Data, Integration & Reporting** You will own the bidirectional integration between Slate and Ellucian Colleague, including student record creation, program and term mapping, and financial aid touchpoints. You'll build and maintain source formats and inbound feeds (Common App, test scores, transcript services, search names, National Student Clearinghouse, international partner files), author and maintain queries, exports, and scheduled jobs supporting daily operations and executive reporting. You'll own record matching, deduplication, and merge logic; maintain the data dictionary and funnel stage definitions; produce funnel and yield reporting that reconciles to the student information system; and partner with the data and analytics team to ensure Slate data lands correctly in the University reporting environment. **Communications Delivery** You will administer Slate Deliver for email and text messaging, including templates, campaigns, deliverability, authentication records, suppression lists, and bounce management. You'll execute and maintain the migration of student text messaging to Slate Deliver (opt-in records, consent history, number provisioning) and maintain compliance with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and University communication governance standards. **Security, Compliance & Governance** You will administer role-based permissions on a least-privilege basis, execute quarterly access reviews and same-day offboarding, maintain FERPA compliance in all configuration and reporting, maintain configuration documentation and change logs, and support information security review of new Slate integrations and vendor data exchanges. **Support, Training & Project Delivery** You will serve as tier 2 and tier 3 support for Slate users across Admissions, Enrollment, Financial Aid, and Athletics; develop and deliver training and documentation; contribute to project delivery for CRM consolidation and platform retirement; and participate in the Slate user community. **Requirements** - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience - Two or more years of hands-on Slate administration or configuration experience in a higher education setting - Working knowledge of Slate Rules, Source Formats, Configurable Joins, Deliver, and Reader - Knowledge of admissions and enrollment funnel operations (application review, decision release, yield activity) - Knowledge of FERPA, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA as they apply to student records and communications - Knowledge of student information system data structures (Ellucian Colleague experience preferred) - Query writing skill in SQL or Slate query logic (subqueries, joins, exports) performed independently - Configuration skill across a CRM platform (forms, workflow automation, permission structures) - Integration skill (file-based feeds, scheduled jobs, web service connections) - Technical writing skill sufficient to produce documentation for other administrators - Troubleshooting skill to isolate defects between CRM, integration layer, and student information system - Ability to translate functional requests into supportable technical configurations - Ability to work to deadline during peak cycles, including occasional evening and weekend hours - Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records Preferred: Technolutions Slate certification or documented Slate Summit training; experience migrating from Salesforce or another CRM to Slate; working skill with XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, JavaScript in Slate portals and Deliver templates; scripting skill in Python or comparable language.
