Tennr is a healthtech company that automates the complex insurance referral and prior authorization workflows that slow down patient care and provider payments. The company uses proprietary models to handle the tedious paperwork that keeps providers overwhelmed, enabling patients to get the right care at the right time.
You'll join Tennr's Infrastructure team as a Site Reliability Engineer, focused on building and maintaining the systems that keep the platform reliable, observable, and secure. This is a hands-on role with significant growth potential: you'll lead the PagerDuty rollout across engineering teams, instrument the product with observability signals, and own the full lifecycle of credentials, certificates, and encryption keys protecting patient health information (PHI).
Key responsibilities include:
- Rolling out PagerDuty across engineering teams, helping define escalation policies, on-call schedules, and runbooks to ensure calm, clear incident response
- Building in-app Datadog instrumentation (metrics, traces, alerts) aligned with Infrastructure's observability standards
- Managing credential storage and rotation across all environments
- Managing certificate issuance, renewal, and rotation
- Managing encryption key lifecycle and rotation to ensure end-to-end PHI protection
This role is ideal for someone a few years into their engineering career who wants to grow into deep SRE ownership. You'll have strong mentorship, real problems to solve from day one, and direct visibility into how your work impacts the reliability and security of a HIPAA-regulated platform handling sensitive patient data.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–4 years of experience in SRE, infrastructure, systems engineering, or a strong adjacent engineering background
- Familiarity with PagerDuty or comparable on-call and incident-response tools
- Hands-on experience with Datadog or another observability platform, or demonstrated eagerness to develop deep expertise
- Working understanding of secrets, certificate, and key management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager, KMS, ACM, HashiCorp Vault)
- Careful, methodical approach to security and rotation work; attention to detail is essential
- Enthusiasm for growing into broader SRE ownership and energized by working in a regulated healthcare (HIPAA/PHI) environment
