Lambda is hiring a founding Site Lead to establish and lead its Bengaluru capability center. This is a player-coach role combining hands-on technical leadership with general management responsibilities. You will serve as the senior technology leader and de facto GM for the India site, reporting to global leadership while building and scaling the local operation from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include: establishing Corporate IT delivery end-to-end (employee onboarding, endpoints, identity and access, office infrastructure, collaboration tools, asset lifecycle); building the site's technology foundation from zero (connectivity, conferencing, device provisioning, vendor relationships); designing and executing the Bengaluru staffing plan and hiring high-caliber IT Operations, Finance Systems, and GTM Systems talent; providing dotted-line leadership to Bengaluru-based business technology specialists while maintaining global functional accountability; leading incident and service management with clear ownership and measurable SLAs; partnering with global Security and SOX programs on controls; and creating a local operating cadence that leverages time zone differences as a follow-the-sun advantage.
You will balance strategic site leadership (representing the site to global leadership, anticipating growth needs, translating local realities into company decisions) with hands-on execution (resolving critical incidents, shaping delivery decisions, ensuring every employee has a secure and productive technology experience). Year one is particularly hands-on; you will hire your team while personally covering gaps.
Required: 12+ years in Corporate IT, enterprise technology, or IT operations; 5+ years leading teams in India for a global company; proven track record building or significantly scaling a site, capability center, or country technology operation. You must be a player-coach with hands-on depth across identity and access, endpoint management, SaaS administration, networking, AV, asset lifecycle, and incident management. Strong matrix leadership experience (leading specialists reporting to managers in other countries/time zones), security and compliance fluency (audit-facing or SOX environments), talent-building track record in Bengaluru, and executive-level communication across cultures and time zones are essential.
Nice-to-have: GCC or capability center establishment experience, familiarity with Lambda's stack (Okta, Lumos, Google Workspace, Jamf, NetSuite, Salesforce, Coupa, Workday, BigQuery), pre-IPO or IPO readiness exposure including SOX ITGC, experience hiring finance systems/Salesforce/data talent in Bengaluru, and practical use of AI tooling for IT operations automation.
