Impulse is seeking a Simulation Visualization Engineer to develop and maintain tools for visualizing simulation results and models that emulate camera systems for space vehicles. You will work closely with GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control), Space Operations, Mission Design, Business Development, and Testbed teams to create high-quality displays and renders of space vehicles executing missions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop visualizations of vehicles executing their missions
- Collaborate with Mission Design engineers and Business Development to create high-quality demonstrations of vehicle capabilities
- Support test efforts with visualizations and displays that enable intuitive understanding
- Create models of space-vehicle camera systems for vision systems development and testing
- Contribute to software and tool development to improve simulation workflows
- Participate in mission dress rehearsals and operations, supporting real-time requests from the team
This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about space technology who can bridge simulation, visualization, and operational needs. You'll work on cutting-edge space vehicle missions with a team focused on autonomous systems and orbital operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation of physical systems
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or other rendering engines
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing graphical displays for spacecraft sensor data and telemetry monitoring
- Demonstrated experience with version control systems such as Git
