Salary: USD 130,000 - 140,000 / annual
Astronomer is seeking a Service Delivery Manager to join its Professional Services team. The company provides Astro, a unified DataOps platform powered by Apache Airflow, trusted by over 800 leading enterprises for data orchestration, analytics, and AI initiatives.
In this role, you will serve as the operational lead for customer engagements, bringing structure and momentum to professional services delivery. You will manage a portfolio of customer engagements primarily supporting East Coast-based clients, developing comprehensive project plans that outline milestones, timelines, and responsibilities. Your core responsibilities include facilitating regular engagement cadences with customers to track progress and maintain delivery momentum, coordinating technical resources across Service Delivery Engineers and Architects, and ensuring engagements remain aligned with contracted scope.
You will act as the primary point of operational coordination, helping customers move efficiently from kickoff through adoption while maintaining high engagement and transparency. This includes identifying and maintaining backlogs of technical initiatives that support platform adoption, monitoring services utilization, surfacing delivery risks early, and coordinating resources to resolve blockers. You will also partner with Sales and account teams to ensure delivery engagements align with broader account priorities.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in project management, professional services delivery, or technical program management within SaaS or technical services environments. You should have proven experience building and managing project plans for technical or software implementation projects, managing multiple concurrent customer engagements, and coordinating work across technical stakeholders. Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Experience with data platforms, data engineering products, or background as a Technical Project Manager, Professional Services Project Manager, or Implementation Manager is preferred.
