Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, developing high-speed optical interconnects and photonic engines. The company is Series B funded and led by industry veterans focused on unlocking faster, cooler, and more efficient computing at scale.
This Senior Process Engineer role owns the development and deployment of manufacturing processes for optical transceiver products across the assembly flow, including die attach, wire bond, active alignment, and general assembly. You will drive process definition from initial concept through high-volume production for current and next-generation 800G and 1.6T module programs used in AI data centers.
Key responsibilities include defining and proving out manufacturing processes; owning process documentation (specs, work instructions, control plans, FMEA); managing end-to-end manufacturing changes under quality management systems; leading equipment selection and new equipment introduction; collaborating with design engineering and contract manufacturers on DFM alignment; supporting qualification and reliability testing; analyzing yield data and driving root-cause corrective actions; and automating processes to support scale-up.
You will work closely with contract manufacturers, equipment and material suppliers, internal design teams, and quality teams. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, continuous improvement mindset, and ability to operate in a geographically distributed cross-functional environment. International travel is required.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field; 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing; expert-level knowledge in optical assembly processes (die attach, wire bond, active alignment, testing, burn-in); strong data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) skills; understanding of quality management systems and standards; optics failure analysis expertise; and fluent English communication for presentations and cross-functional collaboration.
