This Senior Process Engineer role owns manufacturing process development and deployment for optical transceiver products across the assembly flow, including die attach, wire bond, active alignment, and general assembly. You will drive processes from initial definition through high-volume production for current and next-generation 800G and 1.6T module programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define, develop, and deploy manufacturing processes for transceiver assembly, implementing continuous improvement to achieve yield, throughput, efficiency, and quality targets
- Own manufacturing documentation (process specs, work instructions, control plans, FMEA) and approve production line changes
- Manage end-to-end manufacturing ownership with change control per QMS requirements
- Lead equipment selection and new equipment introduction, defining requirements and working with suppliers through release to manufacturing
- Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturers on process execution, improvement, and DFM alignment
- Partner with quality teams on qualification, reliability, and burn-in testing for new products and process changes
- Analyze process and yield data to identify root causes and drive corrective/preventive actions
- Prepare process reports with data analysis and trend summaries
- Automate manufacturing processes to support scale-up and high-volume production
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field, plus 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing. Expert-level knowledge in optical assembly processes, statistical process control, quality management systems, and optics failure analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, data analysis expertise, and excellent cross-functional communication. International travel required.
