OpenAI's Business Marketing team is seeking a Senior Web Experience Strategist to shape the customer journey across openai.com. This senior individual contributor role focuses on understanding how audiences—from individual developers to large enterprises—discover OpenAI's products, learn about capabilities, and take meaningful next steps. You will own the full customer experience strategy: how visitors arrive at the site, explore products and use cases, consume content, and transition into product experiences or sales conversations. You'll define audience journeys, shape information architecture and navigation, guide content and storytelling, and connect self-service exploration with human support touchpoints. Your work will include creating journey maps, experience briefs, and wireframes, then partnering with Web and Design teams to deliver and iterate. Key responsibilities include: - Defining audience journeys from discovery through adoption and deployment - Shaping site navigation, information architecture, and cross-product connections - Guiding content strategy and creative storytelling across the site experience - Balancing self-service and human-led support pathways - Translating strategy into shipped work through collaboration with Web, Design, Content, and Product Marketing teams - Using research, visitor behavior data, and experimentation to continuously improve journeys The role is based in San Francisco with an in-office requirement of three days per week. Requirements: - 10+ years of experience leading web strategy, digital experience, UX, or product strategy at a technology company, agency, or consultancy - Demonstrated success shaping and improving complex websites, preferably for B2B technology companies serving multiple products and audiences; portfolio required - Strong product judgment and ability to connect technical capabilities to audience needs and adoption paths - Experience with customer journeys, information architecture, navigation, and content strategy - Understanding of when self-service is effective versus when go-to-market conversations add value - Ability to translate ambiguous needs into clear direction, collaborate across disciplines, and use research and experimentation to validate and improve work
