Salary: USD 226,000 - 311,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Principal Product Manager for Identity Standards to lead the company's approach to industry standards in the identity space, particularly around AI agents and SaaS security. Reporting to the SVP of ISV Ecosystem, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, and Partnerships to shape how Okta and Auth0 contribute to and influence identity governance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to identity standards development, specifically for AI Agents and SaaS Security
- Developing and articulating Okta's strategic point of view on leading (vs. reacting to) identity governance standards
- Guiding Okta and Auth0's proposed changes to Agent Identity, Federation, and related extensions through the standards process
- Evangelizing best practices to ISVs building on Okta and Auth0 platforms to increase integration breadth and depth
- Bridging product roadmaps and standards development across Identity Governance, Identity Threat Protection, and AI security products
- Partnering with Developer Success and Product Marketing to develop collateral and drive adoption of new standards
This role requires someone who can operate at the intersection of product strategy, technical standards bodies, and ecosystem partnerships. You will be instrumental in positioning Okta as a thought leader in identity standards for the emerging agentic AI era.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working with or on modern identity providers
- 4+ years of experience as a product manager in the SaaS space
- 3+ years of experience working with identity standards bodies
- Strong communication skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly in both business and technical contexts
- Willingness to travel to identity and security conferences, especially in Asia
Additional valued skills:
- Experience designing, reviewing, and documenting RESTful APIs
- Experience helping partners implement technical standards, particularly provisioning and de-provisioning
- Ability to translate abstract standard requirements into concrete, shippable product features with clear customer value propositions
Note: In-person onboarding required in San Francisco office first week of employment. Role requires 2 days per week in Bellevue office.
