Okta is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the Okta Customer Identity (OCI) platform, which provides the identity, authentication, and account management layer for millions of end users across B2B, B2B2C, and B2C applications. OCI is one of two core pillars of the Okta platform alongside Workforce Identity.
In this role, you will own two primary areas: (1) incubating zero-to-one platform capabilities from raw opportunity through validated design to shipped v1, and (2) driving OCI adoption within the existing enterprise customer base by identifying and removing adoption barriers through product changes.
You will serve as the connective tissue across engineering, design, research, and go-to-market teams, ensuring new capabilities land and get adopted in the field. Your responsibilities include identifying and sizing new opportunities using customer conversations, usage data, and market signals; defining and executing a balanced roadmap; writing clear, detailed specifications; partnering with sales and customer success on adoption; tracking the CIAM competitive landscape (Auth0, Microsoft, Ping); and becoming the go-to expert on your area of the roadmap for customers and executives.
A typical day involves studying churn and expansion data to identify underserved segments, conducting design partner calls on rough prototypes, reviewing engineering specs and debating scope, syncing with go-to-market on positioning, and presenting roadmap updates to customers and prospects.
This is a builder's role emphasizing zero-to-one conviction, decisive action with incomplete information, and unquestioned cross-functional influence without relying on formal reporting authority.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of product management experience in enterprise SaaS, platform products, or identity and access management, with at least one end-to-end zero-to-one launch you can speak to
- Track record of building and executing multi-team strategy and delivering on it, not just presenting it
- Strong written and verbal communication: ability to write specs engineers can build from and one-pagers executives can act on
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills; ability to build credible plans from incomplete or conflicting inputs and explain assumptions
- BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent background with ability to hold your own in design reviews with engineering and architecture
PREFERRED:
- Experience with Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM)
- Experience partnering with sales or customer success on attach or expansion motions
- Public speaking experience, ideally in front of customers or at industry events
- MBA or equivalent graduate business degree
