Plaid is seeking a Senior TechOps Engineer to join its technical operations team in New York. The TechOps team is the technical foundation that keeps the company running, owning systems, tools, and infrastructure that every Plaid employee depends on—from identity and endpoint management to help desk support, office infrastructure, and internal tooling.
What distinguishes this team from traditional IT is its engineering-first approach: configuration lives in code when possible, endpoint provisioning is automated, access assignment is self-service, and the team continuously seeks ways to make systems more reliable and reduce support burden. The team has built real momentum in this direction and is investing in people and tools to accelerate further.
This is not a break-fix IT position. You will own various domains, extend existing capabilities on a longer-term roadmap, and work on larger-scope (quarter or longer) and more complex projects. You will be required to participate in an on-call rotation for a few hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading others on the team, unblocking colleagues, and providing guidance and mentorship
- Helping build out the team's roadmap and advocating for future work with supporting plans
- Owning and improving Okta configuration, lifecycle policies, access reviews, MFA enforcement, and Workflows automation
- Managing endpoint configuration via Iru/Kandji with a preference for policy-as-code and version-controlled configs
- Building and maintaining automation to reduce repetitive support burden
- Evaluating, deploying, and supporting AI tooling to improve team and company productivity
- SaaS procurement and renewals for systems the team owns
- Active ownership of company-wide SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Linear, Slack, Okta, etc.)
- Supporting Engineering, Security, and GTM teams with planned work that crosses team boundaries
- Working 3 days per week in the New York office

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience supporting a large fleet of macOS devices
- Mobile device management for Apple devices (Iru, Intune, Workspace One, or similar)
- Configuration as code (e.g., Terraform)
- Advanced usage of bash, Python, or other programming languages
- Experience leveraging Claude Code, Codex, or other AI tools to improve solution quality and efficiency
- Experience managing and defining the business use of critical central business systems including Google Workspace, Slack, and Linear/Jira or other ticketing platforms
