Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Senior Technical Publications Manager to lead the technical documentation function for its Mission Success team. This role manages a staff of technical writers and oversees the creation of user-facing documentation for military systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered command and control platform. You will partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to develop accurate, accessible documentation including technical manuals, operational guides, maintenance procedures, user guides, troubleshooting resources, and release notes. Your responsibilities include managing daily writing tasks, ensuring quality standards, tracking delivery metrics, and engaging stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. A key focus is scaling the technical documentation function across the organization. You will define requirements for documentation infrastructure and tooling, evaluate authoring and publishing software, develop training programs, and establish processes that enable technical writing contributions from teams beyond dedicated writers. You'll work to integrate documentation as a meaningful step in the product maturity framework. You will generate, review, and edit documentation with a user-centric focus, contribute to Anduril's technical writing toolkit (style guides, lifecycle processes, review procedures), evaluate and prioritize documentation tasks using data-driven approaches, manage stakeholder expectations and risks, and build a culture of documentation excellence across the company. Required: 7+ years generating technical documentation, experience reading engineering documentation, proficiency with content authoring tools (word editors and specialized software like RapidAuthor or Arbortext), strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent project management, ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines, and passion for documentation quality and user experience.
