Salary: USD 150,000 - 205,000 / annual

Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, serving large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and a backlog exceeding $1 billion in commercial contracts, the company is expanding rapidly. As Senior Technical Program Manager for the Gen-1 spacecraft fleet currently in space, you will own anomaly resolution, orbit adjustment planning, demonstration activities, and software version upgrades. This is a high-visibility role reporting into the Technical Program Management team within Engineering. Key responsibilities include: - Developing integrated schedules with measurable milestones for spacecraft operations - Driving priorities and execution of on-orbit activities - Working cross-functionally with flight software, avionics, payload, ground stations, and both USG and commercial sales teams to remove execution obstacles and maintain schedule - Identifying and driving risks to closure - Communicating and tracking progress to internal and external stakeholders - Developing company-wide program management processes and initiatives You will interface directly with customers and internal engineering teams to ensure satellites operate nominally and meet mission objectives. Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics - 7+ years of engineering experience on large, complex hardware programs - 3+ years of engineering management or program/project management experience - Excellent communication skills, both internal and external - Proven ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, overcome obstacles creatively, and document/communicate tactical plans clearly Bonus qualifications: - Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence - Hands-on experience managing hardware or software that reached launch and on-orbit operations Compensation includes base salary, significant equity via stock options, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, and on-site catered meals.
