Salary: USD 189,000 - 250,000 / annual
Lightmatter is a venture-backed company leading the revolution in AI data center infrastructure. The company invented the world's first 3D-stacked photonics engine, Passage™, capable of connecting thousands to millions of processors at the speed of light for extreme-scale data centers supporting advanced AI and HPC workloads. You will serve as Senior Technical Program Manager, coordinating the engineering effort behind Lightmatter's AI and Chiplet Interconnect products. You will lead program management for the silicon hardware engineering team from design through production, collaborating across engineering teams to plan and drive objectives. This role spans silicon development, packaging, assembly, and test phases.
Key responsibilities include organizing and driving planning, scheduling, and day-to-day execution for silicon, package, and systems development. You will collaborate with engineering leads to estimate and prioritize tasks while maintaining quality and realistic delivery schedules. You will develop and lead comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with key partners and business needs. You will manage project schedules and quality, identify risks and issues, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders. You will facilitate recurring project meetings and operational checkpoints throughout project lifecycles, set clear communication to management regarding project plans and status, and provide hands-on project management and cross-functional coordination. You will take responsibility for release schedules and milestones in a fast-paced environment and engage with vendors and customers on external programs.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience with silicon design, tapeout, and product qualification. You must hold a bachelor's degree in a technical field and have experience with the product qualification lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT). Prior semiconductor engineering experience in chip, systems, or product is essential. You should have proven ability to influence decisions and lead teams in a matrix environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You must be an expert user of program management tools such as MS-Project, Asana, or Smartsheet, and possess excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of photonic structures, optical communication, and laser solutions, as well as experience setting up project management initiatives from scratch in startup or new business unit environments.
