Scopely is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join the Monopoly GO! team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. Monopoly GO! is one of Scopely's largest and most successful franchises, with teams distributed globally across Spain and the US.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between developers and artists, leading the asset integration pipeline. Your primary responsibility is to take assets from external software suites, import them, and assemble them into the Unity3D development environment. You will lead a small team of Technical Artists and mentor them on best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining tools and solutions for artists, leveraging AI to enhance production pipelines
- Writing C# tools to enhance integration and create robust asset pipelines
- Mediating between art and tech departments to ensure smooth asset integration workflows
- Implementing UI and 2D assets into Unity canvas and sprites
- Importing, managing, and optimizing 3D assets and animations in Unity
- Writing shaders in HLSL and/or ShaderGraph for feature development
- Profiling and optimizing graphical, memory, and CPU performance metrics
- Managing and maintaining assets in versioned repositories
- Creating content using Unity3D's internal toolset: materials, animation controllers, particle systems, timeline sequences, cinematic content, and lighting
- Supporting and documenting pipelines and establishing best practices across the team
Requirements:
- Proven team leadership and mentoring experience
- Strong experience with Unity game engine
- Experience in UI/UX design
- Proficiency with 2D illustration software (Photoshop, Figma, or Illustrator)
- Background in mobile game development
- Knowledge of repository management, asset exporting/importing, optimization techniques, and pipeline creation
- Very strong English communication skills
- Experience with AI generative tools and pipeline development
