Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry. The company designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for spacecraft maneuvering, with applications ranging from lunar landings and resource utilization to national defense, human exploration, and commercial space transport. The company has achieved 40%+ year-over-year growth for three consecutive years and is expanding operations across Durango, Colorado; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Seattle, Washington.
You will serve as a Senior Systems Engineer leading systems engineering across rocket engine and thruster development programs. This role drives the complete thread from customer mission and CONOPS through requirements, architecture, design, verification, qualification, and delivery. You will work directly with customers and internal teams to translate mission needs into requirements and ensure systems are designed, built, and tested to meet them.
Key responsibilities include: working directly with customers to define mission objectives, CONOPS, and system success criteria; translating mission needs into clear, testable system requirements with end-to-end traceability; leading system architecture development and trade studies (performance, risk, cost, schedule); ensuring consistency and integration across propulsion, structures, avionics, thermal, fluids, and manufacturing; leading definition, planning, and execution of verification and validation approaches including qualification plans and acceptance test procedures; leading gated product development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.); identifying, tracking, and driving closure of technical risks and interface issues; independently analyzing system performance and recommending design changes; facilitating communication between customers, internal teams, and suppliers; supporting failure investigations and root cause analysis; and contributing to process improvements across programs.
This is a full-time, exempt position with <25% travel. The role is onsite in Seattle, WA or Durango, CO. Eligible candidates participate in the company's stock option plan.
