REGENT is developing Seagliders—wing-in-ground-effect craft that travel just above water at 180 mph with 180-mile range on current battery technology. The company is scaling from prototype to full production of Viceroy, a commercial Seaglider program, and seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Certification team.
In this hands-on technical role, you will own and manage requirements and safety analyses for the most complex systems on Viceroy. You'll take direct responsibility for the program's most ambiguous and cross-cutting systems engineering challenges, driving them from requirements and analysis through verification and resolution. Your work will span functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and requirements traceability in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning complex systems problems and driving them from requirements through verification
- Partnering with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, software, test) to provide systems engineering guidance and resolve competing requirements
- Leading system safety analyses (FHA, FTA, FMECA) and providing technical review of teammates' work
- Deriving requirements from regulatory documents, standards, and safety analyses while maintaining audit-ready traceability
- Developing verification approaches for requirements without established means of compliance
- Working across system boundaries to surface risks early and support certification readiness
- Reviewing requirements, verification procedures, and safety artifacts; mentoring teammates; improving team tools, templates, and practices
You will earn trust through the quality of your work and judgment rather than formal authority, and your influence will come from your technical depth and collaborative approach.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience with safety-critical systems in regulated environments (aerospace, maritime, medical, nuclear, or equivalent)
- Track record owning complex systems engineering problems spanning disciplines, involving significant ambiguity, or requiring novel solutions
- Strong requirements and test management experience, including requirements development, traceability, verification planning, system-level testing, and hands-on use of tools such as Jama, Polarion, DOORS, or equivalent
- Deep system safety experience developing and reviewing FHA, FTA, FMEA/FMECA analyses
- Technical depth to work across disciplines with background in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or controls
- Collaborative approach to technical leadership with experience reviewing others' work, helping teammates solve difficult problems, and improving systems engineering processes without formal authority
- Flying, sailing, or boating experience is a plus
