Layup Parts is a manufacturing technology company using proprietary software, automation, and advanced manufacturing systems to dramatically reduce lead times in aerospace, defense, robotics, and adjacent industries. As Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will report to the COO and CEO and work closely with the Business Operations team to build and scale the supply chain function from the ground up. This is a strategic and tactical role at an early-stage startup where you'll own both day-to-day procurement execution and multi-year supply chain strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing internal supply chain systems: budgeting frameworks, purchase approval workflows, demand planning, and inventory management
- Building and organizing the procurement team into functional categories
- Developing relationships with legacy suppliers and establishing a broader supply chain strategy
- Executing day-to-day procurement transactions and vendor management
- Ensuring production continuity by preventing procurement-related bottlenecks
- Positioning supply chain as a strategic enabler and resource for the broader organization
You will balance immediate operational needs with longer-term strategic initiatives spanning 6 months, 1 year, and 3-year horizons. The ideal candidate thrives in early-stage environments, can wear multiple hats, and has experience building supply chain functions from scratch in manufacturing or hardware-intensive industries.
