Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced technology, AI, autonomy, and sensor fusion. Anduril Maritime is fielding next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for undersea reconnaissance and strike missions, executing multi-million-dollar production contracts while scaling the supply base from low-rate builds to sustained production.
The Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer owns manufacturing readiness and production performance of the external supply base for the Undersea, Reconnaissance & Strike business line. You will own the industrialization of the Dive-LD vehicle's supply chain—pressure vessels and structures, subsea connectors and harnessing, electronics and PCBAs, power systems, and sensors that comprise the bulk of the bill of materials.
You will spend significant time at supplier facilities, accountable for understanding each supplier's true production capacity, what it would take to scale, and where processes will break before they do. You will coordinate closely with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams, as well as directly with supplier leadership and manufacturing engineers, to execute effective supply chain strategies that achieve production goals.
Key responsibilities include: owning supplier industrialization end-to-end from NPI build through rate production across the full multi-level vehicle BOM; analyzing and validating true supplier capacity through value stream mapping, takt and cycle time analysis, and constraint identification; partnering with suppliers' manufacturing and industrial engineering teams to optimize process flow, factory layout, work cell design, tooling, and material presentation; partnering with Supplier Quality Engineering to drive PPAP, FAI (AS9102), control plans, PFMEA, and process qualification to closure ahead of production release; establishing and driving process performance and statistical process control (SPC) reviews at supplier sites; owning bring-up of new production tooling, fixtures, and lines at supplier sites; owning capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up including CAPEX, tooling lead time, and labor planning; vetting supplier production capability, facilities, equipment, and workforce for the Approved Supplier List; identifying and driving product and process improvements at supplier sites to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, and improve cycle time; supporting root cause task forces and closing corrective and preventive actions; partnering with Product Sourcing Engineers and Global Strategic Sourcing to ensure sourcing decisions reflect real supplier capability; partnering with internal Manufacturing and Design Engineering to drive design-for-manufacturability feedback; and maintaining a clear picture of industrialization risk across the product line with early escalation and recovery plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience in industrialization, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE, manufacturing, materials) or related technical field
- Demonstrated experience taking a product or supplier from prototype/NPI through production ramp, including tooling and line bring-up
- Hands-on experience with value stream mapping, capacity modeling, and production flow optimization on a live manufacturing floor
- Working knowledge of quality fundamentals including PPAP, FAI/AS9102, control plans, PFMEA, and SPC
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
- Ability to travel up to 25% to supplier sites, domestic and international
- Ability to work onsite in Quincy, MA
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience industrializing complex assemblies where mechanical, electrical, and structural commodities are brought up in parallel
- Experience with maritime, subsea, or pressure-critical hardware (pressure vessels and housings, subsea connectors and penetrators, syntactic foam and buoyancy, composite structures, weldments, potted/encapsulated assemblies)
- Familiarity with large machined structures, fabrication, welding, and finishing processes, or electronics manufacturing and SMT processing
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, marine, or another high-reliability industry
- Familiarity with developing and producing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous improvement methodologies
- Prior knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP system and PLM/MBOM structures
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
