K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and T. Rowe Price. The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from low Earth orbit to deep space, capitalizing on the shift from mass-constrained to mass-abundant launch environments.
As Senior Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical, you will lead supplier development strategy within the Supply Chain organization. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to identify, evaluate, and mature suppliers into strategic partners capable of supporting K2's critical missions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, and manufacturing execution ability
- Manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), rate, and reliability campaigns to enable production
- Lead containment efforts, issue resolution, and supplier corrective action initiatives
- Evaluate supplier quality performance using scorecards and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Provide program leadership inputs to ensure product quality, delivery, and cost meet business and customer expectations
This role requires strong communication skills, commodity management experience, and the ability to systematically grow and mature K2's supply chain. You will have high visibility and impact across the organization, working on multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027.
