Possible is a Public Benefit Corporation on a mission to end the debt cycle and unlock economic mobility. They've delivered over $1 billion in funding to more than 1 million customers and saved them over $500 million through affordable credit products designed to improve financial health rather than profit from debt.
The Senior Strategic Finance Manager owns the full spectrum of strategic finance at Possible, spanning three horizons: recurring FP&A rigor that keeps the business running, near-term modeling that shapes product and capital decisions, and long-term strategy setting the 3-5 year path. This is a senior, high-visibility role with regular exposure to the executive team and Board.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and continuously improve core forecasting, budgeting, and variance-analysis processes, including consolidated flash reporting, product-level forecasting, KPI tracking, headcount and opex reporting, and ensuring accuracy of the consolidated financial model while actively automating this work using AI tools, SQL, and data platforms (Databricks, Sigma) to reduce cycle time and manual error
- Own quarterly Board reporting materials and monthly business reviews, translating complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives for cross-departmental leads, executives, and the Board
- Build and enhance financial models quantifying the impact of near-term business decisions, new product launches, pricing changes, and major capital structure events
- Partner with Treasury and Capital Markets teams on debt and equity financing decisions, liquidity and covenant analysis, enterprise value improvements, and investment evaluation
- Lead cross-functional financial analysis for new product initiatives, translating test design, desired outcomes, unit economics, and revenue-recognition implications into clear financial pictures in partnership with Product, Credit/Underwriting, Marketing, Accounting, and Business Operations
- Run scenario and sensitivity analyses to identify viable strategic paths, collaborating with executive leadership and Business Operations to translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Maintain finance documentation and playbooks leveraging AI and other tools to keep recurring processes scalable and increasingly automated
Requirements:
- Background in investment banking, transaction advisory, or private equity strongly preferred; FP&A or corporate finance backgrounds also considered, ideally from a startup or growth-stage environment
- Deep expertise building three-statement financial models with real understanding of how statements interact; comfort with capital structure and debt instruments
- Track record of using AI to build and rebuild financial models and automate manual FP&A work. Excel fluency is assumed; the differentiator is directing AI to do modeling work so you can focus on analysis and judgment
- Ready to grow into deeper strategic territory including capital markets and debt as automation frees up capacity
- Strong executive presence; able to distill complex analysis into clear, Board-ready narratives
- Self-directed and intellectually curious with strong cross-functional collaboration across Accounting, Treasury, Product, and executive leadership
