Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building modular data centers (Spark) to solve the power bottleneck constraining AI compute deployment. The company owns and operates the full stack from energy generation through cloud services.
You will own the end-to-end new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) lifecycle for the Spark modular data center product roadmap, from concept through first-of-a-kind builds and mass production. This is a technical leadership role requiring deep orchestration across engineering, manufacturing, design, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage schedule, budget, and scope for Spark design programs (new generations, incremental upgrades, sub-assemblies). Drive the Design-to-BoM process with cross-functional teams.
- Requirements Management: Synthesize inputs from engineering, design, and product teams to capture requirements and drive product-level decisions.
- New Product Introduction: Partner with manufacturing to ensure reliable, scalable production. Drive configuration management, revision control, and transition from CAD to shop floor.
- Risk Mitigation: Foster proactive risk identification and mitigation; lead FMEA and risk tracking for complex programs.
- Phase Gate Rigor: Establish and enforce phase-gate discipline; plan and host milestone reviews; document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as connective tissue between internal teams and external contractors. Schedule and run design reviews with clear agendas and action items. Manage third-party scope and timelines. Provide high-fidelity executive status updates and maintain deployment dashboards.
The role is based in Denver (Cherry Creek office) with frequent travel to the Brighton, CO manufacturing facility and infrequent travel (<10%) to other sites.
Requirements:
- 8–12+ years managing high-tech physical product development programs and first-of-a-kind projects (e.g., data centers, distributed energy, advanced manufacturing, electric vehicles, modular construction).
- Mastery of multiple NPD stage-gate processes (LOD, APQP, TRL, etc.).
- Demonstrated expertise in scheduling software used as a proactive decision-making tool.
- Technical breadth across electrical, mechanical, structural, EHS, network engineering, and manufacturing; ability to evaluate trade-offs and surface risks.
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple third-party service providers on critical-path deliverables.
- First-hand manufacturing experience; strong grasp of prototype and first-of-a-kind builds; understanding of LOD drawing stages and manufacturing scale-up prerequisites.
- BOM and PLM fluency; experience managing complex bills of materials, product configurations, part numbering schemes, and direct experience with PLM tools.
- Relentless commitment to safety; demonstrated FMEA and risk-tracking expertise.
- Exceptional communication and organization; ability to read the room and adjust styles. Steady leadership during ambiguity.
- Influence without authority; ability to guide teams via trust, persuasion, diplomacy, and collaboration.
- Proven resilience driving projects to completion despite supply chain or technical uncertainty; "no surprise" mentality on timelines, budgets, and deployments.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
Bonus:
- Advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Active PMP or Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) certification.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Forma, Revit, BlueBeam.
- 8+ years managing large-scale, hyper-scale, or modular data center designs.
- Demonstrated passion for AI and next-generation data center technology.
