SoFi is seeking a Senior Staff Fraud Strategy Analyst to assess, quantify, and mitigate fraud and operational risk associated with debit card authorization activity across SoFi's card ecosystem. This is an individual contributor role focused on conducting quantitative and qualitative risk assessments, evaluating the effectiveness of risk controls, identifying areas of potential loss or exposure, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
You will own fraud strategy analysis and recommendations for debit card authorization controls, analyzing transaction, alert, dispute, chargeback, rule, device, profile-change, wallet, 3DS, merchant, and loss data. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing fraud rules, thresholds, treatments, and exclusions; evaluating rule effectiveness, false positives, customer friction, and operational impact; partnering with platform and vendor teams to implement and validate strategy changes; and documenting strategy decisions, rule logic, test results, and post-implementation outcomes.
You will build executive-ready recommendations that balance fraud loss reduction, member experience, operational feasibility, and governance requirements. You will also support durable reporting and control observability so leaders can understand fraud trends, rule health, and customer impact. This role requires close collaboration across Fraud Strategy, Fraud Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, Disputes, Compliance, Risk, and vendor teams.
Your focus areas include account takeover, wallet and tokenized transactions, 3DS, card-not-present, card-present, ATM activity, high-risk merchants, and override treatments.

- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large transaction-level datasets
- Experience analyzing rule, alert, transaction, dispute, fraud loss, or authorization data
- Ability to evaluate fraud controls using quantitative performance metrics and qualitative risk judgment
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive strategy work from analysis through implementation and monitoring
**Nice to have:**
- Debit card, credit card, payment authorization, or issuing processor experience
- Experience with PRP, DataVisor, Snowflake, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Experience with ATO, wallet/tokenized fraud, 3DS, CNP, CP, ATM, merchant/MCC risk, scams, or dispute abuse
- Experience in regulated financial services, including fraud governance, audit, SLOD, or compliance-facing documentation
