Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony. The company is seeking a Senior Specialist to join the Issuing Operations team in London, serving as the primary engine behind client launches in the card issuing space.
In this role, you will manage end-to-end onboarding for new Issuing clients, ensuring all technical and operational milestones are met. You'll act as the central hub coordinating between Sales, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Engineering teams, while serving as the primary point of contact for customers during implementation. Your responsibilities include translating complex client requirements into actionable project plans, managing day-to-day onboarding activities, and ensuring seamless information flow across internal stakeholders.
You will also represent Checkout.com in external workstreams with Card Schemes (Visa/Mastercard) and third-party suppliers (Bureaus, Wallets), ensuring technical setup aligns with scheme mandates and partner capabilities. A key part of the role involves identifying bottlenecks in the onboarding journey and building enhanced workflows to improve delivery speed and efficiency. You'll ensure operational readiness by briefing internal teams (Operations and Support) for client go-live and managing essential background administration, documentation, system configuration, and data entry.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of payments experience with focus on project delivery, product delivery, scheme management, technical onboarding, or issuing operations. You should have proven track record contributing to card scheme or fintech supplier projects, understanding scheme rules and digital wallet integration requirements. Strong delivery focus, problem-solving ability, and exceptional communication skills are essential. You must excel at balancing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with rapid context-switching, and be comfortable owning detailed administrative work required for technically sound, launch-ready projects.
Checkout.com operates a hybrid model with three days per week in the office to support collaboration and connection. The company has 20 offices across six continents with London as headquarters.
