Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building advanced military systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control. The Robotics Data Foundation (RDF) team builds Anduril's vehicle telemetry backbone, from onboard systems to cloud infrastructure.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the RDF team, you will design and build cloud systems that ingest, normalize, store, and expose vehicle telemetry data across Anduril's fleet of defense robotics. Your work will power software and hardware development, test & evaluation workflows, production incident response, and contractual customer reporting, while underpinning new product development, fleet-wide analysis, simulation, and machine learning initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Build reliable and performant cloud data systems that ingest high volumes of telemetry with high availability and stability at scale
• Design extensible telemetry and data architectures that enable easy integration of diverse, platform-specific data sources into standardized ingestion frameworks
• Enable data-driven engineering in real-time by delivering live telemetry streams and recorded data to cloud destinations and analysis tools for engineers, operators, and test teams across locations
• Build and operate cloud-native systems that are also edge-compatible, including deployment to classified environments and offline/air-gapped settings
• Partner closely with business line engineering teams to understand specific data requirements and iteratively deliver solutions that meet their needs and constraints
You will work with Anduril's world-class defense robotics data asset and help operationalize it across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with modern lakehouse architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake), ETL systems (Flyte, Dagster, Airflow, Argo Workflows), and distributed data processing engines (Spark, Trino, etc.)
• Experience developing and operating high-throughput streaming data pipelines (Spark Streaming, Flink, Kafka)
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, and/or Go (team predominantly uses Python & Rust for core backend services and pipelines)
• Experience building and operating cloud systems, including containerization and deployability technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps systems like FluxCD / ArgoCD)
• U.S. Person status required (position accesses export-controlled data)
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain a US Top Secret clearance is desirable
