Robinhood is building the Prime team to create Bitstamp's prime brokerage platform for institutional clients—hedge funds, market makers, and professional trading firms. The platform enables onboarding, funding, trading, borrowing against collateral, and settlement at scale. The team builds correctness-critical systems including cross-venue settlement, credit against collateral, matched-book lending, and tokenized securities integration, alongside client-facing and operations-facing surfaces for institutional onboarding, account configuration, reporting, and backoffice tooling.
As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will own the design and end-to-end delivery of features across the entire stack—from Prime backend services (settlement, on-exchange credit, lending, tokenized securities) through frontend and backoffice screens. You will own client and operations-facing journeys across the institutional lifecycle: onboarding, account configuration, reporting, and operational tooling. You will author detailed designs and break work into reviewable steps, making failure states, invariants, and recovery explicit before shipping—critical on flows where incorrect answers move real money. You will uplevel the team through design-focused code review and mentorship, moving fluidly between backend and frontend as needed rather than handing off at boundaries.
The role is based in the London office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. You will participate in an on-call rotation to support business needs.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Track record of independently delivering complex, high-ambiguity projects with long-term impact, operating them in production and owning every line shipped
- Strong full-stack production experience in modern backend (Python/Django and Go preferred) and component-based frontend (Vue used)
- Judgment to know where problems are best solved and genuine willingness to own whatever the feature needs across the stack
- Hands-on experience building financial systems (user balances, ledgers, risk engines, settlement, onboarding/KYC, payments) where correctness is non-negotiable and mistakes are expensive
- Strong design judgment: enumerate failure paths, name invariants, and identify the constraint, test, or alert that enforces each
- Excellent communication: drive alignment across teams and stakeholders, give substantive design-level review feedback, mentor engineers to raise the bar
