Anvilogic is a Palo Alto-based AI cybersecurity startup founded in 2019 by security veterans and data scientists from Fortune 500 companies. The company raised $45M in Series C funding in April 2024 and is backed by top-tier VC firms. Anvilogic's AI-powered Multi-Data Platform SIEM helps SOC teams detect and hunt threats across hybrid, multi-cloud environments and security data lakes without centralizing data or replacing existing tools.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Platform, you will design, build, and operate the platform services that form the foundation of Anvilogic's application. You will work on company-critical systems including user authentication, secure connections to customer data stores, and access control (groups, roles, permissions) that govern product-wide access. These enterprise systems serve some of the largest companies in the world, making security, reliability, and scale paramount. Platform services are written in Java and run on AWS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build the next generation of Anvilogic products to support high-growth needs
- Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and the stack
- Collaborate with product management to define and implement non-functional requirements
- Work across the company to build large-scale features while improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Mentor teammates and spread platform and security best practices through documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions
Requirements:
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Professional experience developing in Java
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with AWS, relational databases (Postgres/MySQL), and big data pipelines (Kafka and/or Kinesis)
- Experience defining non-functional requirements, measuring SLOs, and balancing technical foundation with product timelines
- Ability to quickly learn the platform tech stack (Java on AWS)
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS systems for enterprise customers
- Infrastructure-as-code deployment experience (Terraform, AWS SAM, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Observability technologies (Grafana, AWS CloudTrail)
- Data lake knowledge (Snowflake, Databricks)
- LLM experience with standard patterns (Agents, RAG, Tools) and popular frameworks
- Scala or Python knowledge
