HealthEdge is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join its engineering team in Bengaluru. You will be embedded alongside developers, designing and implementing comprehensive automation tests using the company's in-house Java automation framework. The role focuses on ensuring test coverage, feature quality, and regression checks across complex healthcare payer software systems. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and extend automation tools and frameworks - Execute white-box and black-box testing - Create and execute test plans and test cases based on requirements and user stories involving complex data scenarios - Identify testing gaps and process flaws; suggest and implement improvements to increase product quality - Contribute to DevOps work and help improve CI/CD pipelines - Interact with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and drive on-time releases - Participate in product demos - Debug complex, data-driven applications and help identify root causes of defects You will work in a hybrid environment, potentially across multiple time zones, with flexibility to work remotely while being based out of the Bengaluru office. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of professional experience in a software development environment - Expert-level proficiency in UI test automation tools (Cypress or similar) and API testing (soapUI, RestAssured, or similar) - Experience with performance testing tools (Jmeter, K6, or similar) - Broad experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Rspec, Fitness, TestNG, or similar) - Proficiency with Object-Oriented languages (Java, C#, C++, or similar) - Proficiency with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or similar) - Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or similar) - Familiarity with SDLC practices (Agile, Lean, Scrum, XP, or similar) - Experience with DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins) and CI/CD pipeline practices - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Familiarity with enterprise architecture and SOA best practices - Strong experience with distributed source code control systems (Git) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Team player who collaborates well with onshore and offshore teams - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience - Plus: Docker, Linux, WebLogic application server, or healthcare domain experience
