Salary: USD 128,842 - 232,200 / annual
Braze is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Email team, responsible for building and maintaining core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails monthly to customers' end users. The role involves developing a highly parallelized platform for email personalization and sending at scale, REST APIs for managing and tracking user subscriptions, web pages for end-user preference management, and dashboards for configuring customer email domains.
As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with teammates to build new features, improve system performance, and provide guidance on key architectural decisions. You will tackle significant engineering challenges, including architecting new iterations of critical system components and optimizing systems for resilience as they scale. The team values engineers who help elevate the technical capabilities of their peers and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing features for the email delivery platform
- Optimizing performance and reliability of large-scale systems
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experienced technical leader with strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with proven ability to work effectively in team environments
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience building software at scale
- Experience with Ruby, Go, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Experience with MongoDB or Postgres
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or React
- Experience with agile processes
