As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Frontend, you will own the design and delivery of user-facing experiences at the heart of Sardine's AI products. This is a high-autonomy, high-leadership position where you'll develop new features at scale, set the standard for frontend development, mentor engineers, and leverage AI/agentic tooling (like Claude) to ship faster than traditional teams. Your primary focus is building polished, performant, production-grade interfaces in React and TypeScript, with secondary work in Go on backend services and APIs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and own user-facing features in React and TypeScript—polished, accessible, performant, and production-ready
- Set technical direction and quality standards for the frontend, lifting the team through mentorship and code review
- Fluently use AI and agentic development tools (such as Claude) to move quickly and establish best practices for AI-assisted development
- Contribute to backend services and APIs in Go when needed
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to architect and implement new experiences from inception to delivery
- Contribute to product and technical roadmaps and broader engineering team direction
- Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation
- Shape engineering culture and ensure high standards across the organization

Tech stack includes TypeScript (React + Node), Golang, Bigtable, Postgres/PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Python, Java, and Terraform.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer with deep specialization in frontend development
- Expert-level React and TypeScript with strong eye for UX, performance, and accessibility
- Demonstrated fluency with AI and agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude) and track record of using them to ship efficiently
- Leadership experience: setting technical standards, mentoring engineers, driving key technical decisions
- Track record of shipping high-quality, production-grade frontend at scale
- Working proficiency in Go (or ability to become productive quickly) for backend services
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to prioritize autonomously against business needs
- Customer-centric approach with strong empathy toward users
- Proficient in English for casual and formal communication
- Preferred: relevant industry experience in fintech, fraud, compliance, risk, or regulated systems
- Nice-to-have: exposure to data tooling or pipelines
- Must reside in Eastern Time Zone to meet team needs
