Salary: USD 180,000 - 280,000 / annual

You will join the Developer AI team, which builds infrastructure, tools, and agentic workflows used by every engineer at Verkada. This is a high-impact role with company-wide scope: your work directly increases engineering productivity across the entire organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Build AI infrastructure that increases productivity for all Verkada engineers
- Design systems that run AI agents asynchronously, balancing security, cost, and usability
- Help define the Developer AI roadmap and lead planning efforts
- Create evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance and quality
- Partner closely with security, product, and infrastructure teams to launch and support services
- Document and teach AI best practices across the company
- Contribute to growing the team
You will work on projects such as running coding agents at scale, building evaluation frameworks for agent quality, and connecting AI tooling into the monorepo and developer workflows.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven experience shipping production systems, including agentic or automation-heavy workflows
- Strong hands-on coding ability in Go and Python
- Experience building systems that interact with APIs, tools, and external services (not just prompt-based interfaces)
- Demonstrated ability to define metrics and evaluate system performance rigorously
- Experience writing clear technical design documents and driving alignment
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with agent frameworks or orchestration systems
- Experience in monorepo environments
- Experience working on developer productivity tools
- Startup or early-stage team experience
