ARX Robotics Ukraine is seeking a Senior C++ Developer to build software for autonomous ground systems supporting defence teams in Kyiv. You will develop modern C++ components that bridge onboard robotic software with operator interfaces, ensuring reliable performance in lab and field environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop production-ready C++ components using modern standards (C++17/20), taking systems from prototype to deployment
- Build Qt/QML operator applications for telemetry, video streams, and robot control
- Integrate and extend ROS 2 nodes and communications between onboard and ground software
- Conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing in simulation and on real hardware
- Support field trials, investigate failures, and implement reliability improvements
- Maintain build, test, and deployment workflows using CMake, Docker, Python, and CI systems
- Document architecture decisions, configurations, and test results for team and partner collaboration
You will work across software and hardware, investigating problems hands-on and adapting as prototypes evolve. The team will support your learning in ROS 2 if needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of professional C++ development with solid grasp of C++17/20
- Practical concurrency skills: synchronization, thread pools, lock-free approaches, race condition diagnosis
- Confidence investigating software issues with gdb, sanitizers, Valgrind, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience building desktop interfaces with Qt5/Qt6 and QML
- Strong Linux skills including system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting
- Python experience for automation and testing
- Docker experience for reproducible builds and deployment
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (GoogleTest, pytest)
- Upper-intermediate English for technical documentation and collaboration

- ROS 2, Zenoh, or other robotics middleware experience
- UAV or autonomous vehicle background
- Embedded Linux platforms (NVIDIA Jetson)
- Camera and video integration (RTSP, GStreamer)
- ELRS or MAVLink experience
- Networking and VPN configuration
- Ground control applications (QGroundControl, Mission Planner)
